HOTEL INFORMATION |
|
The Boscolo
Hotel Palace is a classic choice for those who want to
experience Rome's more refined side. The location of the
hotel is enviable: here, one breathes the elegant air of Via
Veneto, in the heart of the historic centre, just a short
walk from Piazza di Spagna and Villa Borghese.
When you enter the Hotel Palace you cannot fail to notice
its retro atmosphere. Then you realize that it's not
contrived, but authentic: the building was in fact designed
in the ?20s and the frescoes are from the ?30s, giving the
hotel the air of elegance and luxury of a bygone era.
Our warm hospitality, tailored to your personal needs and
sensitive to your desires, will make it feel pleasantly
familiar to return to the Boscolo Hotel Palace whenever you
visit Rome.
The luxury Hotel Palace is an important witness to the last
century of Roman history: the building was designed in the
?20s by the eclectic architect Marcello Piacentini, already
renowned for his Palace of Justice in Milan, the Rectorate
of the University of Rome and many buildings commissioned by
the Roman bourgeoisie.
Inside the hotel, you can marvel at the enormous frescoes in
which Guido Cadorin immortalized Roman high society of the
1930s. The fact that the people portrayed actually existed
gives the frescoes a vitality and a realism that immediately
strikes the viewer.
The Boscolo Hotel Palace was also a key landmark during the
exuberant years of La Dolce Vita, when Via Veneto was the
gathering place of the biggest names in international show
business. |
