Keep-fit exercises such as yoga and aquarobics are regularly

Water Sports
The calm waters of the cove are ideal for kayaks, pedal
boats, banana-boat and tube rides, as well as complimentary
water-skiing; whereas the coral-sea lagoon on the ocean side
is better suited for snorkeling, windsurfing, Hobiecats,
monohull Lasers, and small-game fishing.
Water skiers and board riders can enjoy a water ski slalom
course and JBWA school featuring ski/wakeboard training.
Experienced skiers can test their skills on the slalom
course, with the opportunity to receive the JBWA Silver
Award, while novices receive one-on-one private instruction
and the chance to progress onto the JBWA Bronze Award.
Youngsters from age eight to twelve years old can also join
in on the fun with introductory courses using special

while making new friends in group sessions.
All water sports are offered complimentary, with the
exception of JBWA instruction, deep-sea fishing, small-game
fishing, parasailing adventures and banana boat, tube and
speedboat rides, which are available for a nominal price.
Deep-sea Fishing
Board the 12.6 meter (42 ft) Chico II for a half- or
full-day deep-sea fishing adventure. Fitted with the highest
quality Penn International rods and reels, up to three
guests may set out in search of blue and black marlin,
sailfish, yellow fin tuna, wahoo and more.
Diving and Snorkeling
PADI- and NAUI-certified diving instructors conduct
simulation courses in the swimming pool and specially
designed classes for guests interested in obtaining dive
certification in Open Water, Advanced Open Water or Rescue
Diving.
The resort’s master diver also offers a choice of
breathtaking excursions on the east and north coasts of the
island, providing a fabulous opportunity for guests to
discover the magic depths of the Indian Ocean.
Pools and Beaches
Fringed by over a mile of white sand beach, in addition to
the main pool and dedicated children’s pool, is an 18-metre
lap pool within the Givenchy Spa. All pools are heated
during winter months, ensuring a comfortable temperature
year round.
Excursions
The island of Mauritius is divided into six regions with an
abundance of micro-climates and different vegetations, with
an ever-changing sea of cobalt blue discovered region to
region. One&Only Le Saint Géran has several suggested day
trips for guests to consider, all designed for individual
exploration of the island’s extreme natural beauty.
On an island regarded for its fabulous waterfalls,
coastline, flora and fauna, guests may discover nature
reserves, reefs for snorkeling, hiking trails, and the
Botanical Pamplemousses Garden, known for its collection of
indigenous and exotic plants, including the giant water
lilies and the talipot palm, which is meant to flower every
sixty years and then die.
Port Louis, capital city of Mauritius, bustles with shopping
at the vibrant Caudan waterfront and the colorful market
fragrant with the scent of exotic spices.
Not to be missed is a visit to Mahebourg, where an 18th
century colonial residence houses the Naval Museum. Here,
numerous relics recovered from shipwrecks are on display
with a collection of maps and etchings depicting the legend
of ‘Paul et Virginie,’ the Bernardin de Saint-Pierre story
of innocent young love that is so synonymous with the
natural beauty and history of Mauritius.
Tennis
More than three million enthusiasts have blossomed under
Peter Burwash's international tennis program, and guests at
One&Only Le Saint Géran can do so, too. Five north-facing
synthetic grass courts are surrounded by palm trees and the
lagoon, and illuminated by floodlights at night. The
resort's tennis pro, an expert in the Burwash training
program, is also available for individual coaching.
Golf
The lush Gary Player 9-hole, par-33 course, complete with
its own clubhouse and One&Only Golf Academy, offers
complimentary greens fees for guests. Instruction for
players of any level is available at the One&Only Golf
Academy, from intensive training with video analysis, to
fine-tuning game play on the practice range followed by 9
holes with the pro, to a fun day on the greens with the
whole family. |
